Pictured above is a field of canola. Due to its' health benefits as a cooking oil, it is becoming a more popular cool-season crop in Oklahoma agriculture. As a legume, it also adds beneficial nitrogen to the soil. Ag. students have studied the benefits of this crop as well as conditions required for growing it. One of our FFA students has researched it and will present a speech over canola in the spring FFA speech contest.
